Futsal Development Programme Review
Session Date: Wednesday 17th October 2018
Learning Block: Ball Mastery
Session Focus: Interference Games
Week 4 saw a return to our technically structured week, continuing with our Ball Control theme & introducing our players to 'Interference Games'.
WHAT: The players were introduced to different ranges of passes and a variety of Futsal specific traps and types of first touch within a congested practice.
HOW: This was done, first through a series of 1v1 games to incorporate the learning of previous weeks and to develop our understanding of controlling the ball & keeping possession whilst under pressure. Secondly a range of paired games that forced players to seek creative ways to keep possession with their partners.
WHY: Once you have developed effective ball manipulation skills it's important to begin to add an end product to your dribbling, be it in the form of a shot or in this case a pass, in order to be deemed an effective Futsal player.
- When a situation is congested with players in chaos & interference games, how quick can I spot a gap to play into?
- When receiving in congested areas, how regular can I check my shoulders to see nearby defenders?
- When I'm playing with my partner, I need to spot him ahead of other players in interference, can I stay on the ball until I see the right pass?
Next weeks focus is based on 'Manipulating the ball out of trouble'.
