PRE ACADEMY CENTRES
The first and most important stage of our Player Development Programme, our Pre-Academy Centre sets the correct foundations for our players
The EPC offer our Pre-Academy Centre to Boys & Girls in Reception – Year 2, delivering a unique training programme that allows the players to start their footballing journey with us. With our Academy Centre starting at U7 (Year 2), we recognise the importance of allowing all players the chance to learn and build solid foundations at a younger age with us, starting in reception.
From the age of 5, young players start to experience the ‘Golden Years’ period of development, the vitally important years of learning the correct foundations of their physical & technical skills in all sports. Our Pre-Academy Centre is set up to introduce our young players to the basic skills of football in an environment that is fun & enjoyable in sessions that are linked to our coaching syllabus. Every player that attends our Pre-Academy Centre is given the attention they deserve to be introduced to the game, and will be placed in sessions that are designed to help the individual.
Our Pre-Academy training programme includes one 75 minute session per week that is delivered as part of a 34-week programme from September - July, our yearly syllabus follows the same learning structure as our Academy Centre, ensuring the same message is sent within all of our PDP (Player Development Programme) sessions.
Our Bracknell Town FC Pre-Academy Centre train twice a week, with the additional session set up to prepare the children for games at U7 - this session is a matches-only structure playing tournaments against groups from our Pre-Academy, as well as other clubs.
Our Berks County FC Pre-Academy train once a week, with this session being a mixture of delivering our PDP syllabus, and the 'matches-only' structure preparing for fixtures at U7.
We will provide the important pathway for players to progress through our partner clubs, Bracknell Town Youth FC & Berks County, at the end of Year 1 every player will get the opportunity to join a Bracknell Town Youth FC or Berks County FC team, this will allow them to play regularly for one of their junior teams.
The aim of our Pre-Academy Centre is to provide an important step in the development of all young players, and we will endeavour to achieve this by delivering the following: –
Maintaining a professional, enjoyable & an effective learning environment at all times.
Delivering high quality sessions that are designed for the individuals, focusing on the key physical (ABCs) & technical skills needed to build them solid foundations.
Coaching a syllabus around the 3 C’s – Can our players be COMFORTABLE on the ball? Can they show CONFIDENCE in our sessions? Can they be CREATIVE in everything they do?
To help build self-esteem & confidence throughout the sessions we deliver, therefore putting our players social skills at the top of our priorities.
To provide all players with a training kit & jumper that must be worn at all times, which helps maintain the professional approach that we like to create.
The Pre-Academy coaching syllabus is created by our Directors of Coaching Dan Sleet & Lee Simpson, who have the experience in the management and delivery of Pre-Academy coaching sessions at Brentford FC & Fulham FC respectively. This experience is vital to the success of our Pre-Academy Centre, giving our players the best possible chance of being the next player to feature on our Success Stories page.

WHAT THE PARENTS SAY
“Many football coaching set-ups claim to teach young players the right habits. Very few actually deliver. The good news is that you can rely on EPC 100%. Both my sons benefitted enormously from the enlightened EPC approach to developing technical skills. Dan & Lee encourage a modern, progressive attitude to playing football. With flair and skill top of their agenda. Most of all, EPC succeeds in making technical training great fun! My two boys loved their time at EPC. Your children will too.”
BEN VICKERS / PARENT

His confidence has gone through the roof thanks to excellent coaches and the well planned out sessions. Cant recommend EPC highly enough, great for all kids regardless of skill levels and previous experience. Thanks!”
